Ingredients
Our Golden Guard Botanical Latte is made with turmeric, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom, black pepper, and ashwagandha. These natural ingredients give Golden Guard a full-bodied, spicy flavor, which we achieve without the addition of artificial flavors, sugar, or sweeteners.
We use only hand-picked and, where possible, regional raw materials. We source all ingredients from the best growing regions.
turmeric
Turmeric and the curcumin it contains are the absolute top product among natural dietary supplements. It is said to have numerous preventative and healing effects, particularly in Chinese and Indian medicine. Curcumin is particularly valued there for its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. It can also support digestion and have a positive effect on the immune system.
Turmeric contains essential oils, resins, proteins and sugar compounds as well as between 3% and 5% curcumin and other curcuminoids, which give it its yellow color and are considered the biologically active ingredients of the turmeric plant.
The form in which this valuable product is consumed is crucial. Dissolving it in warm milk and combining it with high-fat milk and black pepper naturally increases the bioavailability of curcumin in our Golden Guard Botanical Latte. Curcumin is said to have numerous prophylactic and healing effects.
Ginger
Ginger is also one of the most commonly used health-promoting remedies and ingredients in Far Eastern medicine and cuisine and is particularly valued for its anti-inflammatory and strengthening effects on the immune system and digestion, which is why it is widely used there, for example, for colds or digestive problems.
Ginger is rich in vitamins and nutrients and has a particularly high potassium and magnesium content. Ginger root provides a valuable amount of vitamin C and B vitamins to meet your daily vitamin needs.
Cinnamon
Cinnamon is less well known as a medicinal plant than as a spice, yet it boasts a wide range of effects.
Cinnamon contains essential oil (Cinnamomi aetheroleum). The oil of the cinnamon tree contains eugenol and coumarin. Other components include phenolic acids, tannins, and carbohydrates.
Cinnamon can have an anti-inflammatory effect on colds, coughs and bronchitis, for example, and contains very effective antioxidants that protect the body from oxidative damage caused by free radicals.
Mulberries
Mulberries are experiencing a small revival and are enjoying renewed popularity and thus greater recognition in the German food sector. They are increasingly being used in trail mixes and muesli. We're very pleased about this, as we love these small berries, which look quite similar to blackberries and are picked from mid-June to mid-July, depending on the climate. Mulberries are, of course, a delicious source of nutrients: They provide you with potassium, iron, calcium, magnesium, as well as folic acid, vitamins C and E, as well as copper and manganese.
Ashwagandha
Ashwagandha (Ashwagandha nigrum) and its root are among the most widely used natural dietary supplements. In Ayurvedic medicine, it is used, among other things, to improve sleep, increase performance, and achieve inner peace and strength. It is also said to have balancing and stress-relieving effects.
It contains withanolides (somniferanolide, somniwithanolide, withasaferin A and withasomniferanolide*) and alkaloids (anaferine, anahygrine, cuscohygrine, nicotine, tropine and withasomnine*).
pumpkin seed
Pumpkin seeds contain many beneficial nutrients and minerals, such as unsaturated omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, beta-carotene, magnesium, and important enzymes that are beneficial to your body and mind. They also contain the amino acid tryptophan, which has a positive effect on mood by promoting serotonin production.
cardamom
The main components of cardamom are alpha-terpinyl acetate and cineole.
The essential oils of cardamom seeds soothe the stressed gastrointestinal tract, can relieve cramps, and have antibacterial effects.
Cardamom stimulates the appetite and digestion (gall and salivary glands).
nutmeg
Important ingredients of nutmeg include essential and fatty oil and phenylpropanoids (including myristicin and safrole).
Black pepper
Black pepper contains over 200 different components such as essential oil with limonene, sabinene, caryophyllene, safrole and pungent-tasting acid amides, especially piperine.
The ingredient piperine, in particular, is said to have numerous health-promoting effects. Piperine stimulates saliva flow and the production of gastric juices, has antibacterial properties, and warms the body from within.
Piperine is also particularly well known for its ability to increase the bioavailability of substances that are difficult for the body to absorb or utilize, such as curcumin.
