Ingredients
Our Brown Macao Botanical Blend consists of raw cacao, mulberries, maca, cinnamon, vanilla, and cardamom, refined with a pinch of sea salt. These natural ingredients give Brown Macao a chocolatey-sweet taste, which we achieve without the addition of artificial flavors, sugar, or sweeteners.
We use only hand-picked raw materials. We source all ingredients from the regions that provide us with the best quality and flavor.
raw cocoa
Raw cacao is a true all-rounder. In addition to calcium, magnesium, and potassium, it also contains antioxidants and a variety of B vitamins (B1, B2, B3, B5, and B6), as well as important trace elements such as selenium, manganese, and iron.
Mulberries
Mulberries are experiencing a small revival and are enjoying renewed popularity and thus greater recognition in the German food sector. They are increasingly being used in trail mixes and muesli. We're very pleased about this, as we love these small berries, which look quite similar to blackberries and are picked from mid-June to mid-July, depending on the climate. Mulberries are, of course, a delicious source of nutrients: They provide you with potassium, iron, calcium, magnesium, as well as folic acid, vitamins C and E, as well as copper and manganese.
Maca tuber(or Peru ginseng) (Lepidium meyenii, Syn.: Lepidium peruvianum)
Did you know that the maca tuber is said to have many positive effects on physical performance and mental resilience? Clinical studies have shown, however, that this effect is not based on an endocrinological effect, i.e., an effect that influences hormone production. Thus, no changes in hormone levels have been observed in humans. Nevertheless, maca appears to have a positive effect on sexual dysfunction.
Cinnamon
Cinnamon and chocolate are practically best friends, but you usually only get them in pairs. Our cinnamon gives Brown Macao a pleasantly warming note and, according to studies, can also boast positive health effects. Some studies have provided initial evidence that the spice can reduce existing insulin resistance (1) and lower blood sugar (2) – however, further research is needed to confirm these initial findings.
Vanilla
Who doesn't love the sweet scent of vanilla when freshly baked goods or hot chocolate arrive on the table?! Real vanilla has now become an expensive luxury item and is traded extensively on the global market. We didn't shy away from adding real vanilla to our Brown Macao, because what are raw cacao and cinnamon without the sweet and delicate scent of vanilla?! A perfect trio that promotes well-being and happiness.
By the way, there are now numerous studies demonstrating that the substances contained in vanilla (e.g., essential oils) can demonstrably alleviate anxiety, restlessness, stress, as well as sleep disorders and feelings of hunger. The key factor in this is that vanilla can, among other things, stimulate the production of the happiness hormone serotonin in the brain.
cardamom
Cardamom has many uses and, in addition to being high in antioxidants, is a good source of minerals such as potassium, calcium and magnesium.
Cardamom can help reduce inflammation in the body and promote healthy digestion. It has traditionally been used to relieve breathing problems and improve overall respiratory health.
Sea salt
Who hasn't heard it from their grandparents and various cookbooks? When preparing a sweet dish (be it cake, pudding, rice pudding, or even hot chocolate), it's always good to add a pinch of salt to bring out the flavor. We followed this advice and added a small pinch of sea salt to perfectly round out the flavor of our Brown Macao Latte.
